Networking within the Latino Community
With the help of social media platforms, Latinos are able to share their experiences of being Latinos here in the United States as well as to come together to share ideas in business, blogging, creativity and community services. Past and current studies show that Latinos are very quick to adapt to the latest technology and to utilize technology to access information and to communicate.
I happened to come across a skype video in which Gozamos, a blog and podcast network focused on the Chicago community, had an opportunity to interview Elianne Ramos, the Vice Chair of Communications for Latinos in Social Media or LATISM, on how LATISM got together and the importance of the Latino community networking with one another. This may be a year old but it shows how social media platforms can unite Latinos to promote cultural diversity, support groups and business creation. If you know of any other Latino organizations worth mentioning please post it here.
