Florida State University Offers Online Certification in Hispanic Marketing Communications

If you’re looking to get educated in Hispanic marketing communications to help expand your business or marketing/advertising campaigns towards the Hispanic market without going back to school to get a new degree than you should consider taking a certified online course developed just for this at Florida State University’s Center for Hispanic Marketing Communication, headed by Dr. Felipe Korzenny.

This online class includes topics such as cultural identity and its impact on consumer behavior, language use, Hispanic cultural insights for marketing, and case studies relating to Hispanic marketing. The course will also address research and marketing strategies. The only book that will be used for this online course is Dr. Felipe and Betty Ann Korzenny’s book, Hispanic Marketing: A Cultural Perspective. This book is an excellent resource to study from even after taking the course. See my recent post on this book. A certificate of completion will be issued to all non-degree seeking students who complete the course.

Current PhD student of Hispanic Marketing Communications at Florida State University, Antonieta Reyes Echezuria, took this course as a graduate student to help her enhance her understanding of the market with courses on modern language studies, business and marketing strategies, and behavioral theory.

She says,

“The goal is to add to our tool kit, the knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors that will allow us to successfully plan and create marketing communication programs for Hispanics in the US.

The Hispanic Marketing Communication course includes applying critical thinking to todays diverse marketing environment. It is specially designed to introduce participants to what it means to be Hispanic in the US. It includes a little bit of history of how Hispanics came to be the largest minority group and how the advertising/marketing world has responded to this phenomenon. The class is enhanced with updated case studies and allows participants to share their thoughts and opinions while facilitating networking opportunities and mutual collaboration. By the end of the course, participants shoe their understanding with the creation of a strategic document or a vertical paper for a product, service, or industry of their choice.

This class is appropriate for all levels. From marketing beginners to seasoned men and women. It is particularly recommended for professionals currently addressing the Hispanic market, or those who would like to start a Hispanic marketing initiative.”

I 'm Frankie De Soto and I was born on the beautiful island of Puerto Rico. I graduated at the top of my class from the University of North Texas with a BA in Art and 2 minors in Marketing and Radio, Television, and Film. I have been doing graphic design for the past couple of years creating graphics for advertising, signs, brochures , and flyers but I decided to return to school to expand my knowledge into more new media applications such as web design, human /computer interaction, Flash animation and marketing communications. I graduated with an MFA in Arts & Technology at the University of Texas at Dallas. My current studies are focusing on social media and marketing communications which in part encouraged me to begin this blog as well as my love for Hispanic culture and online media practices.

Search engine optimization (SEO) is the action of amending the visibility of a web site or a web page in search engines via the “natural” or un-paid (“organic” or “algorithmic”) search results. Other patterns of search engine marketing (SEM) target paid listings. In general, the earlier (or higher on the page), and more often a site seems in the search results list, the more visitors it will find from the search engine. SEO may target other kinds of search, including image search, local search, video search and industry-specific vertical search engines. This gives a web site web presence.
